The primary mission of your expedition efforts in Creatures of Ava is to clear the infection that is plaguing the planet. In the first hour of your adventure, you will gain a staff that will assist you in clearing away the infection. However, at multiple points of the game, you will be able to learn new spells for your staff, including the Dhom spell, which will slow down time. To acquire this spell, you will need to enter the second ecosystem, the Nari Jungle, and start the story-related quest called a sage apology. This guide will break down what you need to do in order to unlock the Dhom spell for your staff.
How to Unlock the Dhom Spell in Creatures of Ava
As mentioned before, you will need to start the sage apology quest, which will see you try to clear the air with Nim’ar by finding the sagestone in the Nari Jungle. You will need to head south to find the location. Keep referring to the map on the menu screen, as it will show you the exact area you need to go.
When you finally reach the location on the map, you will notice that the inner chamber containing the sagestone will be locked off. You must utilise the blue tree branches to your advantage to enter the inner chamber. From the bottom of the swamp area, walk up the blue tree branch, and you will see another one next to it. Jump onto the branch in front of you, and continue this pattern with the blue tree branches until you encounter a witherblossom. After you have cleared the path, drop down, and you will be in the chamber. A brief cutscene will transpire, and another puzzle will be presented to you, like the previous sagestones.
How to Solve the Puzzle for the Dohm Spell
Similar to the Krist spell puzzle, the shape you will want to create with the fragmented pieces is a diamond silhouette (rhombus). The jigsaw piece in the middle is already in the correct location, so use the other seven pieces to build up the shape.
The first step is fairly straightforward, grab the left top piece and place it on the top left of the centre piece. Now, you will want to move the left middle piece and rotate it to be placed at the bottom right of the puzzle. There should be a tiny fragment piece on the right side in the middle. Rotate this piece and put it in the lowest right corner.
Place the centre-top jigsaw piece at the bottom of the puzzle next to the last piece you placed. There will now be a piece overlapping the puzzle on the left. Grab this and rotate it so it fits into the top right. There will be one big-sized jigsaw piece remaining now. Place this piece in the gap on the left. The final piece will need to be rotated to fit into the left-hand corner.
When you finish this puzzle, you will then unlock the Dohm spell. Whenever you cast this spell on environmental objects, such as overgrown vines, make sure you take several steps away before casting the spell.
