How to Unlock Lance Bean in Vampire Survivors Operation Guns

Bill Rizer and Lance Bean go together in Contra, so it only makes sense that Bill is involved when you unlock Lance in Vampire Survivors Operation Guns. You can’t get one without the other.

How do I unlock Lance Bean in Vampire Survivors Operation Guns?

Basically, Lance is tied to Bill’s weapon in the Operation Guns DLC. If you don’t evolve the Long Gun into Prototype A, you don’t unlock the new character. Fortunately, that’s a pretty easy process. You can get Lance in a total of two runs.

First, you need to unlock Bill. This is as simple as going to Neo Galuga once. Head to the northeast, get him from the coffin, and you’re good.

Next, you need to pick Bill during Character Selection when starting a new run. This is because he has the Long Gun weapon from the start. Choose the Neo Galuga map again. Immediately grab one of the Weapon Power-Up items sitting on the map. Max out the level of the Long Gun. until you beat a boss and it drops the evolution for the Long Gun to make it Prototype A.

Once that run ends, you’ll get a message saying you unlocked Lance Bean in Vampire Survivors Operation Guns because you evolved Long Gun into Prototype A. In Character Selection, you will need to pay 510 coins to unlock him. His default weapon is the Short Gun. Like Bill, you need to play through a map as him and survive for 15 minutes to unlock the Short Gun as a level-up option.

Vampire Survivors and the Operation Guns DLC are available on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices.
