How to change party members in Tales of Arise

It is quite easy to change party members in Tales of Arise. What you want to do is first open up the main menu and press the button to “edit.” You can see this button input at the bottom of the main menu screen. For PlayStation and Xbox, you’re looking at the R1 and RB buttons, respectively.

Once in this menu, you can pick the four party members you want to be part of the active fights, known as the “battle members.” On the other hand, you can set the remaining two party members to the support role, which is also sometimes helpful. Once you are done, you can simply back out of the menu and it’ll be done.

How to switch the party leader in Tales of Arise

Players may want to change their party leader while progressing the Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn DLC. You can run around the entire game as any of the six main party members. This way, you aren’t just stuck with Alphen or Shionne. There are two ways to do this, with the first being in the same screen we just talked about.

While in the edit screen, you can press the Square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox). Do this while over a character to instantly make them the party leader. But there is a much easier way than this. Open up the main menu screen and the first page has an option where you can press the same keys as before (Square or X). Doing so will switch through the six party members as leader.

Tales of Arise and the Beyond the Dawn DLC are available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
