Monster Hunter Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Event Explained

Those looking to jump into the Monster Hunter event without having played Ever Crisis prior will have to complete the story to a point. This means that you cannot immediately begin the event.

You will need to complete Story Chapter 1 – Mako Section 3, Mako Reactor in order to access this content, and Solo Content as well. Once you have done this, you will be able to access Events in Ever Crisis, including the Monster Hunter crossover event.

Navigate to the Event tab and select the MH Crossover Event “Rathalos in Midgar Skies” option. You will see that two different quests will be available: Event Story and Event Battle. Event Story are strictly Solo Event Quests. This means you will complete these quests without the assistance of other players.

Event Battle has both Solo and Co-Op content. Rewards include:

  • Shrina Wyvern Blade 4 Star and 5 Star
  • Proof of Defeat Rathalos
  • Rathalos Shard

The Shinra Wyvern Blade is a free Weapon for Sephiroth and will grant you an Event Bonus so long as he is in your party with this Weapon equipped. Any Monster Hunter crossover Weapon will grant you a bonus. So, if you do decide to roll on the Event Banners, it is worthwhile upgrading these Weapons and taking them into battle for that reason.

That, and it helps progress the Monster Hunter Event Board. Keep in mind that there is a glitch when fighting Rathalos where Japanese text will pop up on the screen. This will freeze your game if you are playing through the Steam client on PC. Exit the game and re-open it to continue the fight, and it will proceed as usual.

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available for Android, iOS, and PC. The Monster Hunter crossover event will last from March 30 to June 27, 2024.
