How to start the Baldur’s Gate 3 Epilogue in Patch 5

Before you can even start the Baldur’s Gate 3 epilogue in Patch 5 and beyond, there are some requirements. For one, you must beat the entire main story from start to finish on a particular run. This means you need to complete all three acts of the game and defeat the final boss, the Netherbrain.
If you’ve already done this, all you need to do is load up your final save for that playthrough, which will be right before the last boss fight in the game. This is there to usually let players redo the final fight if they wish, but it has another purpose now. If you load up this final save, you will end up at the camp with Withers hosting an epilogue party.
This party at your camp is the epilogue event, and it takes place canonically around six months after the events of the final battle. This lets you talk to some of your favorite characters and resolve situations from the choices you made with nearly 3,600 new lines of dialogue.
How to fix BG3 save file crashes
Unfortunately, some players are reporting issues with the epilogue. Some players who update to Patch 5 have their games crash or not load them into the ending event when they use their final save. If this happens to you, there are a couple of possible fixes to help with this. For one, make sure to uninstall any mods you have.
If this doesn’t work, you may need to reinstall the game entirely. But if none of that fixes your issues, you may need to submit a bug report to Larian Studios and wait for a hotfix from the developer.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PS5 and PC. It will also be released on Xbox in 2023.
