How to Save in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is all about nostalgia and calling back to the golden era of JRPGs. As such, this is even the case when it comes to saving your game. You might be surprised or confused about how to save in Eiyuden Chronicle, but we have your back on exactly where to do this.

Eiyuden Chronicle Save System Explained

To start, you are unable to save anywhere in this JRPG. Unfortunately, unlike some of the other modern JRPGs, you can’t just open up your menu and save anytime you like. Instead, you have to go to one of two specific locations to save your game, so beware of that before you hit a game over screen.

Save Crystals

The first of the save locations in this game is the basic save crystals. If you’ve played any JRPG, you likely know what to expect here. These little save crystals let players save the game and continue from there. They are the most common, as they are, fortunately, all over the world. There is usually one (or even more) in each dungeon, but be sure to save at every one you find in case of danger around the next corner.

Inns

The second location players are able to save in Eiyuden Chronicle is at the various inns in the world. Most of the major cities in the game don’t have save crystals because they have inns, instead. While it costs money (Baqua) to stay and heal at these inns, it is totally free to save there as many times as you want.

At your castle base, you will find there is both a save crystal and inn here. It is one of the few exceptions. There is a save crystal right outside of Nowa’s room in the castle, while the inn is in the main town area itself.
