Gordy is a big deal in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, as this love interest used to be a character you couldn’t romance. “Cody,” as he was known before, was just an ordinary NPC. But now you can get closer to him and marry him. Fortunately, winning his heart and triggering heart events isn’t too challenging.

How do I romance Gordy in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life?
So in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life you need to marry a love interest by the end of the first year, so you probably should try to romance Gordy right away. Talking to him every day helps, but giving gifts can make a huge difference. I had him up to six hearts by the end of Summer by using Milk Soup and Coins from the excavation area.
The only downside is, you can only give a character a gift when their arms aren’t crossed. When Gordy is in his home, his arms are always crossed and he won’t accept gifts. He’s also often in this pose when outside. So essentially, the best time to catch him and give him gifts is when he is leaving his house at 10:30am each morning.
Here are some gifts I’d recommend (and not recommend) for Gordy.
- Loves/Likes: Anything from the dig site like a Coin and Clay Figurine, Eggs, Milk, and Milk Soup (which is also one of his requests for you from the bulletin board)
- Dislikes: Fish.
Gordy will also accept pretty much any flower. However, since it can be difficult to catch him when his arms aren’t crossed, I recommend giving him some of the guaranteed higher value items instead. (He seemed to like the dig site finds more when I played.)
Where can I find Gordy in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life?
Good news! Gordy is a homebody! He wakes up at 9am each day, then stays in his house until around 10:30am. After that, he’ll hang around his home or sometimes walk down to the ocean. But really, he’s going to be at home most of the time, so he’s very easy to catch.
As always, checking the map also lets you see exactly where he is at any given time by moving the cursor to search for him.
How do I check my romance level with Gordy in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life?
On his couch in his home, you’ll be able to check his diary to see how he feels about you. It’s also possible to go into your main menu to get an idea of his current “heart” status for your character.

How do I see Gordy’s four Heart Events in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life?
Remember how I said Gordy likes to hang around at home? That comes in handy here. When you’re trying to romance this Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life love interest, you’ll find Gordy tends to mostly hang out around his house. It makes triggering events pretty easy. As long as it isn’t raining or snowing and his hearts are at the right level, you should be good.
Also, there will be no spoilers for any events below, since these are all new ones.
1 Heart
I saw Gordy’s first heart event on accident on Spring 5th at just about 11am. I finished fishing when it triggered. He will be at the ocean. When this event comes up, first ask what he’s up to. Then, call attention to something you see in the water with the first response.
2 Heart
Gordy’s second event happened for me on Summer 3rd. It was around noon in-game. (The screenshot I took after mentioned it was just before 12:30pm.) I was walking to his house when it triggered. You’ll see him walking, and you should follow him to make sure he’s all right. After you do and talk to him, invite him to visit your farm.
4 Heart
I saw Gordy’s next heart event on Summer 6th between 2 and 3pm. (I ended up triggering Cecilia’s and his on the same day, one after another, so I’m uncertain about the exact time. It was after noon.) Enter your house, then exit it around then. Following your invitation from the last event, Gordy will show up. Agree to let him visit. Then later, when Takakura shows up, explain to him why Gordy is there.
6 Heart
This event triggered for me on Fall 3 sometime around 11am. I got to Gordy’s late, and it started up when I was walking toward his house. Ask to spend time with him. Then, while you two are together, encourage him to relax by bringing up the good people around.
