With the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update overhauling the game’s skill system, you will need to know how to respec your character. Thankfully, CD Projekt RED has given us a few options to rebuild our characters in time for the Phantom Liberty DLC. Here is how to respec in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0.

If you already have an existing save file, your character will automatically have their skills reset in the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update. After installing the patch and accessing your character menu for the first time, you will receive a message from CD Projekt RED that states, “Due to significant changes in gameplay mechanics, your Perks have been reset, and your Perk Points have been refunded, allowing you to rebuild your character however you like.”

However, you may still want to rebuild your protagonist a second time after using your free character reset. To respec in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0, go to the character menu and select the Reset Attributes button in the lower-left corner of your screen. Note that you can only use the reset attributes feature once per save file, so you may want to think carefully before using it.

CD Projekt RED is also giving players the option to skip the main story campaign and jump straight into the Phantom Liberty DLC. If you choose this route, though, your character will automatically be level 15 and have a set of skills already unlocked. If you want to customize your pre-made character’s perks, you will want to take advantage of the respec feature before starting the new expansion storyline.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The Phantom Liberty DLC will be released on September 26.
