How to fix “you cannot add any more Personas” in Persona 3 Reload

Nothing is more frustrating than seeing the dreaded “you cannot add any more Personas” message in Persona 3 Reload. This happens when you have a full box of Persona, and are trying to summon a Registered Persona from the Velvet Room. While this might not seem like a big deal on the surface, it becomes a problem when you need to quickly summon a Persona to match the Social Link you are trying to progress.

If you are confused about how to free up space in your Persona box, you are not alone! The game doesn’t actually go out of its way to tell you how. However, the process is pretty easy once you know. To release Persona in Persona 3 Reload, you must access the Persona page from the pause menu.

Below are the steps to release Personas in P3R:

  • Press (Y Button Xbox) or (Triangle PlayStation) to pause your game.
  • Select the “Persona” menu, found under “Equip”.
  • Find the Persona you want to release and press (“Menu” button on Xbox) or (“Options” button on PlayStation).
  • After pressing the button, you will get a prompt asking if you want to release this Persona. Click yes.

The release Persona button is tricky to see at first, as it’s tucked away in the right-hand corner of the screen with tiny text. If you are having trouble seeing it, we have provided an image below that highlights it:
