Final Fantasy XIV has early access to the fifth expansion, Dawntrail, four days early. While you might already have your pre-order bonus code, which gives you access to the early period, you might not have your full game code just yet. Here’s when you should receive your FFXIV Dawntrail expansion code and how to redeem it.
When Will You Receive Your Dawntrail Expansion Code?
First and foremost, some players may not have the full expansion just yet. When you pre-order the game on PC, for instance, you should automatically receive the pre-order bonus code. But this is separate from the full expansion and only grants you early access.
The full expansion codes started going out worldwide on Monday, June 24, 2024. That said, they are going out in waves, presumably in order of when players purchased the game, so you might have to wait a bit. It is uncertain how long it will take for all players to receive their codes, but we presume it will happen before the official launch on July 2, 2024.
How to Redeem the FFXIV Dawntrail Code on PC and Console
If you currently have your full FFXIV Dawntrail expansion code, you are now ready to redeem it. Fortunately for PS5 players, you don’t have to worry about this. Pre-ordering the game digitally automatically gives you the full license; you just need to log in to claim it when the release date arrives once you’ve updated the game.
For PC players, though, you’ll need to log in on the Mogstation with your account once July 2, 2024 arrives. Look for the “Additional Expansions” option and pick your correct platform. Then you’ll want to enter the expansion code exactly as it says. Make sure to do this before July 5, 2024, as early access ends then and you will be unable to visit Tural after the fact without the full expansion code.
Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail will release for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on July 2, 2024. Early access begins before that on June 28, 2024.
