Those of you who played The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion are in for a treat in Starfield. One of the most unforgettable (and annoying) characters from that game, your fan from the Arena, returns in this game with his descendant, ancestor, or simple homage: the Adoring Fan. The Adoring Fan can also join your Starfield crew.

How to recruit the Adoring Fan in Starfield

If you want to recruit the Adoring Fan in Starfield, there is only one way to get him on your crew. Oddly enough, he is unique in that he is exclusive to only a certain type of player in the game. To get the Adoring Fan, you have to pick the Adoring Fan trait during the character creation process.

You can only pick up to three traits, so this will take up one of them. After you pick it, you should continue with your adventures on New Atlantis following the prologue. I recommend doing the main story and various side quests.

At some point randomly while you are on New Atlantis, the Adoring Fan will show up and ask to join your crew. He can be your active companion, work on your ship, or work at one of your outposts. If you struggle to get the recruitment event with the Adoring Fan, I suggest continuing the Constellation main storyline.

Can you remove the Adoring Fan from your crew in Starfield?

Though it pains me to say it, you can choose to remove the Adoring Fan from your crew in Starfield. (You monster.) There are a couple of ways to do this, depending on your preference. If you get too annoyed by him, you can ask him to leave, and it will remove this trait from your character. Alternatively, you can choose to attack him during a conversation (or even outside of it) and eliminate him from your team and the galaxy in the process. Though I hope you wouldn’t resort to that.

Starfield is available for the Xbox Series X and PC.
