How to Recruit Hiro and Get an Item Shop in Eiyuden Chronicle

You’ll probably meet Hiro early on in Eiyuden Chronicle, when you’re dealing with bandits as part of the main quest, but you can’t recruit the item seller who can open a tool shop right away. You need to head back into the Abandoned Mines after you get your castle and meet with him again to add him to the fold.

How do I recruit Hiro and get the item vendor to open a Tool Shop in Eiyuden Chronicle?

Okay. So. I was at castle level 2 when I met with Hiro for the second time, and I visited him right after getting the castle for Nowa. Based on the dialogue that came up when I did, I almost suspect that he might require your base to be at that tier and be established before he’ll join. But still, it never hurts to check!

If you are at castle level 2 like I was when you meet Hiro again, he’s easy to recruit in Eiyuden Chronicle. He’ll offer to join after you speak to him at the winding part of the Abandoned Mine. Just head to the spot I highlighted in the screenshot below. Talk to him, and you’re set.

Is Hiro good in Eiyuden Chronicle?

Yes! Not because you can have him as a support or he’s a strong fighter. Rather, being able to buy any item from your tool shop at the castle in Eiyuden Chronicle is such a relief, since there are no other towns right close by for shopping purposes. Being able to get items to let you escape from dungeons or heal right at home is so convenient.

Just remember that to build the tool shop at the Trading House, you only need Hiro and 600 Headquarters Funds. You don’t need any other materials for it. Once it is done, the store opens and you get 10 more people for your community.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is available on the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
