How to Recruit Gieran in Eiyuden Chronicle

There is only one way to recruit the powerful scholar and magical ally Gieran in this JRPG. First, players need to progress through the game until they unlock the home base town. At this point, players will have a quest to visit the Treefolk Village through a forest.

As you pass through the forest, there will be a spot near the water, where Gieran is camping. Speak to him and he will be willing to join the Watch as a party member, but first he needs to find the special Rune of Conservation. He doesn’t give you much to go on about how to find this rune, but we have your back with this.

Where to Find the Rune of Conservation in Eiyuden Chronicle

Don’t be like us and waste your time grinding against the random enemies in this area of the forest to recruit Gieran in Eiyuden Chronicle. Instead, continue the story until you reach the southern part of the Greatwood area. This is past where you meet Gieran. Once you get near the end of this area just before the Treefolk Village, there is a save point and a small clearing.

Save and you will face off against a mandatory story boss known as the Ancient Seed. Defeat this boss and you will obtain the Rune of Conservation. Take a trip back through the forest to Gieran to give it to him and recruit him. He is a powerful traveling mage, who is a great asset in battles.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is available right now for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
