How to Recruit Galdorf in Eiyuden Chronicle

Galdorf is one of the Eiyuden Chronicle characters that requires an item to recruit him, but fortunately you’ll probably find it when you recruit Ormond

How do I recruit Galdorf in Eiyuden Chronicle?

Once you have your own castle in Eiyuden Chronicle, Garr will suggest returning to the Grum County area for new recruits, and you’ll happen upon Galdorf in the Abandoned Mines on the way there. However, before you even find him, you’ll probably get the item he needs.

See, between the area you descend into the mines from the well at the back of your castle and Ormond, you’ll find a treasure chest. Open it, and you’ll get Palenight Armor.

Head to the part of the mine that exits out into Grum County. Galdorf will be there talking about this piece of equipment. After the initial conversation, he’ll move over to the right. Talk to him again with the item in your inventory, and he’ll immediately join your crew.

The trick about this is, make sure you don’t equip the Palenight Mail after you find it. Galdorf won’t recognize you have it unless it is in your general inventory when you speak with him. Once you do recruit him though, you’re free to give it to any character you’d like. (Nowa ended up wearing it in my game.) It boosts attack by 3, magical attack by 2, defense by 10, and magical defense by 7, so it is a great piece of early-game armor.

Is Galdorf good in Eiyuden Chronicle?

Honestly, I spent quite a bit of time using Galdorf. Since Lian is pretty fragile, I replaced her with him, placed him in the front row alongside Garr and Kogen, and had a strong front line. I also love that he has a strong Power Smash skill and has the Charge Up ability that can boost his damage.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is available on the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
