As you go through Elheim in Unicorn Overlord, you’ll recruit a number of elves who are retainers of the sisters Eltolinde and Rosalinde, and Galadmir is one of them. However, part of that involves going out of your way to take the Side Quest “Bowman of the Setting Sun.”
How do I recruit Galadmir in Unicorn Overlord?
You can trigger “Bowman of the Setting Sun” by going to Voitarafi Town, just north of Fort Payvakea in Elheim. The gimmick behind Galadmir is that she was part of Eltolinde’s guard, but her men died, Zenoira found out where Eltolinde was, and she’s been living in shame since. She’s been following the Liberation Army in secret, and she wants to join and protect her liege once again. However, she wants to protect her on the company’s march in the north without being noticed. So, you need to follow along the path, taking out enemies, while also making sure the NPC ally doesn’t get hurt.
The good news is that Galadmir mostly stays out of the way and out of danger. Just send some units you feel can handle the enemy level 21 fight down the road. As you pass unoccupied watchtowers, she’ll set up camp in them and offer Ranged Assist fire during your fights against Zenoira.
However, the tricky part comes at just about the halfway point. You’ll see enemy dialogue that mentioned they now noticed she’s there. This means enemies will start targeting her. Unlike many ally or neutral units, Galadmir is a bit frail! She can probably take one hit from an enemy force and survive, but a second will defeat her. So you’ll need to keep pace and make sure she isn’t seen.
However, I noticed a fun “trick” here. If you have a unit with Eltolinde in it, Galadmir will disappear and go into hiding so “her lady” doesn’t see her. So if there is a moment when someone is sneaking up on or getting close to Galadmir, move the unit you have with Eltolinde in it near her. This is especially helpful for the last watchtower, as there is a hidden enemy in the woods to the west of it that will only make themselves known when Galadmir takes that post.
Make it through the fight, and you’ll see Galadmir and Eltolinde reunited. You’ll learn more about the situation, and Galadmir will join the army. She is an Elven Archer equipped with a Greatwood Spiritbow and Detoxifying Amulet. You’ll get 25 Renown, a Greatwood Bow, a piece of Star Iron, and the Faerie Knights insignia for your efforts.
