Fortnite battle royale matches have a variety of resources and currencies for players to worry about. But one of the most low key important currencies is gold bars, which is used to purchase a variety of items. Here’s how to plunder gold bars in Fortnite the easiest and fastest, and what to do with them.

How to Plunder Gold Bars in Fortnite

There are often challenges every season of battle royale asking players to plunder gold bars. This just means collecting as many gold bars as you can to meet the challenge’s requirements. There are quite a few ways to get gold bars in this game and these are the ones most worth mentioning:

  • Looting treasure chests and cash registers
  • Looting players you eliminate
  • Completing small objectives within a match, like capturing a named location
  • Player bounties

All four of the above options will be the best when it comes to collecting gold bars. Personally, I like to keep it simple and just focus on looting every treasure chest in sight and defeating all players I come across. It is certainly possible to amass hundreds of gold bars in every match if you are meticulous in your exploration.

What to Use Gold Bars for

Once you plunder a ton of gold bars in Fortnite, it is now time to spend them all. There are a few different ways to spend gold bars and they all have to be done within a match. In addition, your gold bars reset every single season, so if you know a new season is approaching, be sure to not let them go to waste.

You can spend gold bars mostly at vending machines and while talking with NPCs. Both will trade various items, such as valuable shield potions and weapons, in exchange for a handful of your gold bars. My favorite way to spend gold bars, though, is to exchange them with certain NPCs to hire them for that match. They are extremely helpful in nabbing that Victory Royale.

Fortnite is available for free for Android, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
