Accursed Rituals are one of the best ways to farm Rare items, Tempering Recipes, and gold in Diablo IV. This guide will break down how to perform Accursed Rituals in Diablo 4.
Accursed Rituals in Diablo 4 Season 4 Explained
Accursed Rituals can only be performed in Helltides. Helltides are areas designated with a red background and a darker red border. You can take a look at what a Helltide looks like below:
Thankfully, Helltides can be accessed at any World Tier. This was introduced through Season 4. While Helltides were always a fixture, they were limited to specific World Tiers. This means that players can perform Accursed Rituals at any World Tier difficulty. (You can read more about World Tiers here.)
In order to perform Accursed Rituals, you will need to obtain Baleful Hearts. These are obtained by participating in Helltides. Complete area missions that are designated by small white diamond-like markers on your map. Completing these will have the chance of dropping a Baleful Heart. You will need a total of three Baleful Hearts in order to perform a ritual. You can see how many of these items you have on the upper right-hand side of the screen.
From there, open your map and look for a map icon that looks like the head of a demon. Approach the altar and place a Baleful Heart on each podium, and you will begin an Accursed Ritual. Players will be expected to fend off waves of enemies and defeat a boss in order to complete the ritual.
Rewards include Legendary items, Rare items, Tempering Recipes, and other valuable materials. Ideally, you want to perform as many of these as possible during a Helltide.
Diablo IV is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X. It is also available on Xbox Game Pass.
