Dozens of new recipes were introduced into Disney Dreamlight Valley following the release of the “A Rift in Time” DLC expansion. This guide will show you how to make Ruby Masoor Dal in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and it requires a bit of work before it can be prepared in-game.

What Is Ruby Masoor Dal?

This three-star meal is based on the real-life Masoor Dal soup, a traditional Indian dish made of red lentils, chilis, cumin, and tomato. The dish is usually yellow in color, due to the red lentils changing into that color during the cooking process as they begin to break down. In Disney Dreamlight Valley, the dish is a vibrant red color, which gives a hint at what ingredients can be used to prepare it in-game.

How to Make Ruby Masoor Dal in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Players will need to ensure they have first unlocked the Wild Tangle biome in order to obtain Ruby Lentils. Unlocking the Wild Tangle will require players to have completed the Eternity Isle main story quest “Sands in the Hourglass.”

Once the biome is unlocked, players will need to build Goofy’s Stall in the area and pay Scrooge McDuck to get the stall to its max upgrade. Ruby Lentil seeds will be purchasable from Goofy’s Stall after upgrading it.

After purchasing Ruby Lentil seeds for 250 coins, players can plant the seeds anywhere. Ruby Lentils require two real-world hours in order to reach maturity in-game. They will grow faster than two hours if planted in the Wild Tangle. Once grown, Ruby Lentil seeds will yield three Ruby Lentils per harvested plant.

In order to cook the Ruby Masoor Dal, players will need the following items:

• One (1) Ruby Lentil
• One (1) Tomato
• One (1) Chili Pepper

Most players will have already harvested Tomatoes and Chili Peppers from the Valley. If they have not, Tomato seeds can be purchased from Goofy’s Stall in the Wild Tangle. Chili Pepper seeds can be purchased from Goofy’s Stall in the Glittering Dunes. Combine these items at any cooking station in order to prepare the Ruby Masoor Dal.

The meal will sell for 357 coins or more depending on what additional ingredients were added to the meal. The Ruby Masoor Dal can also be consumed by the player to gain 405 energy or more. The soup can also be gifted to villagers in order to increase their friendship level.

If players do not craft the dish immediately after unlocking the Wild Tangle, they will obtain the recipe for the dish from Remy after completing the “I’ve Got a Dreamlight” quest for Rapunzel.
