Grinding in any RPG can typically feel like a chore. Here are a few ways to level up fast in Persona 3 Portable to minimize the grind.

Most games don’t really require you to hit the level cap to beat the game. Persona 3 Portable is no exception, although a typical playthrough may still need minimal grinding to be fully completed. However, if you’re going for any of the game’s bonus bosses, you will want to prepare to spend extra time leveling up.

Because of the way Persona 3 Portable’s leveling system works, you get vastly diminishing returns for fighting enemies under your level. This means simply fighting normal enemies over and over isn’t going to cut it.

If you’re trying to level up in Persona 3 Portable, you can check if Tartarus is unstable. Talking with Fuuka before entering can let you know whether it is or not. An unstable Tartarus could have a number of different effects, including an increased Death timer. Though one potential oddity is pink shadows, defeating these encounters will net you significant EXP.

However, most of the game won’t require any unnecessary leveling outside standard battles. The real grind won’t crop up for most players until the end of the game. At this point, the best option for grinding is in Monad.

You’ll unlock this 10-floor dungeon by completing the Elizabeth quest, where you retrieve The Bloody Button. Monad’s lower floors have enemies you can defeat fairly easily but with hefty EXP gains. This is the easiest place to level quickly. This is also the only place where you can really get enough EXP to hit the level cap.

Persona 3 Reload is scheduled for release on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on February 2, 2024. Persona 3 Portable is currently available on Switch, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.
