Starfield is nearing a year since its release and Bethesda is celebrating with some great additions to the game. This includes the Creations system, which involves official mod installation on the game. But when it comes to Starfield mods, is it possible to use them on Xbox, too? This is what you need to know.
Can You Use Mods on Xbox?
Most of the time when it comes to games on consoles like Xbox, it isn’t possible to have mods on those platforms; only PC. Fortunately, it is a different case for Starfield, likely because of how Bethesda has handled mods in the past with games like Skyrim and Fallout 4.
I am happy to confirm you are able to install the mods even on Xbox Series X/S. In fact, it goes even beyond that. If you are streaming the game through Xbox Cloud Gaming, you are even able to install mods in that version, too, without even installing the game on a physical console.
How to Install Mods Using Creations in Starfield
Better yet, you are not only able to install Starfield mods officially on both PC and Xbox, but it is a pretty simple and easy process. All you need to do is ensure you have the game updated to the most recent patch version, which includes the Creations platform within the game.
Once you do that, you’ll find Creations in the main menu. Here, you’ll be able to see all of the mods Bethesda has officially allowed within the game. Some are free, while others require you to purchase them with Credits, which costs real world money.
What you want to do is select the mod you want and then choose to “download” it. Then, you want to make sure it is enabled on the same Creation page. As long as it is enabled, you can load up your game, and it will even apply to existing saves. Just know that using most Creations will disable Xbox achievements for that save.
Starfield is available right now for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
