Storage space is extremely important in Palia, and in order to upgrade from your basic Wooden Chest you’ll need to head to Tish’s Furniture Shop in Kilima. You don’t buy these chests outright, but will instead need to purchase them from the register in Tish’s shop.

I really advise getting the Copper Storage Chest as soon as you can. You’ll be getting a plethora of different crafting materials off the bat, and you’ll find your Wooden Storage Chests filling up fast. Especially as you start to cook more high-end food recipes or even build more elaborate pieces of furniture. The Copper Storage Chest also requires some pretty basic ingredients that can be found in Kilima and harvested with your basic harvesting tools. You will need a Forge and Basic Sawmill, which are unlocked as you progress the game and increase your Mining and Foraging skills.

You can increase your inventory space by heading to Zeki’s General Store. You don’t purchase the bag from Zeki himself or the cash register located in the shop. Instead, you want to look to your left and purchase the bag from the display there.

It’s definitely worth getting the Large Bag when you can, since you’ll be filling up the standard bag you get by default pretty quickly. However, you won’t need it immediately and can save up the necessary gold while purchasing other tools to help you accrue gold at a reasonable pace.

Palia is available on PC and will release for Nintendo Switch on December 14, 2023.
