How to Hide Your Helmet in Baldur’s Gate 3

Hide Helmet Baldurs Gate 3

While armor in Baldur’s Gate 3 can certainly be a form of player expression in terms of how you want to present your character, sometimes you just want to hide your helmet. Thankfully, the option is available. The option may just not be where you would expect it. Unlike games like Nioh or Monster Hunter, players will need to navigate to a different menu outside of the standard “Options” menu.

In order to hide your helmet in Baldur’s Gate 3, you will need to pull up the character window. This can be done by pressing the I key. From there, hover over your helmet slot or equipped helmet. Doing so will cause a little box to pop up above the helmet slot, as you can see in the screenshot I took below. Clicking this will change when your helmet will appear, if at all.

You will have a total of three options. These are:

  • Show Helmet
  • Hide Helmet in Dialogue
  • Hide Helmet

This means that you can walk around with your helmet on for extra immersion, or even toggle it on or off if you end up changing if you want it to appear at all. There are loads of different headwear options in Baldur’s Gate 3. So there is always the chance you could end up changing your mind and want to hide or show your helmet depending on your character’s look.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for the PC and will release for PS5 on September 6, 2023.
