In Fae Farm, players have the option of growing seasonal crops. With each new season, multiple new crops become available that only grow in winter, summer, spring, or fall. The method of acquiring these seasonal crops is not stated outright at the beginning of the game, so here we’ll detail how to get your hands on them.

First, open your map on PC or press the minus button on your Nintendo Switch. Then, navigate to the town center. Once you’re there, have a chat with Holly. She is stationed on the right side and has forest green hair. Speak with her and select the option to open her shop. You’ll notice she’s selling a special item called the Magic Crop Swap Fertilizer. This item is what you’ll need to use to transform your regular crops into seasonal crops. Make sure you have at least 50 Gold Florin to purchase it. You also need to be at least Farming Level 3 before you’re able to buy it.

In order to magically transform your crops into seasonal crops, you’re going to need to grow some regular crops first. Holly sells turnip seeds for five Gold Florin each. Since turnips take four days to grow to maturity, it’s the most efficient crop to grow if you want to level up to Level 3 quickly. Plus, you’ll have a set of crops to transform by the end.

If you want an even faster way of leveling up your farming prowess, dig up some sand and silt with your shovel in the first few floors of the Saltwater Mines. By doing that, you’ll be at level 3 in no time. You can also use the silt and sand you collected from this to craft Basic Soil Beds, which are essential for planting crops.

Once your regular crops have been planted, press the A button on your Nintendo Switch or interact with them on PC while standing near them to fertilize them. You can switch between fertilizers with the L and R buttons on your Nintendo Switch. You can only use one kind of fertilizer per crop. In this case, you’ll want to use your Magic Crop Swap Fertilizer you bought from Holly. You can fertilize your crops at any stage in the growth process.

Your crops will begin to glow blue after being fertilized with the Magic Crop Swap Fertilizer. On the following days, you’ll know if your crop has swapped to a seasonal crop by the image that hovers above when you walk close to it. There is a chance that your crops will not successfully swap. The seasonal crops that your regular crops could turn into are dependent on what season you are currently in in the game. Once your crops have fully grown and you’ve harvested them, you can either sell them or turn them into seeds with your Garden Bench.

Once you’ve grown seasonal crops, you can use the Garden Bench to turn them into seeds to grow more of the crop you originally grew. This is a construction item for your yard. In order to convert your crops into more seeds you can plant, you need at least one of any crop. Use the Garden Bench by pressing the A button on your Nintendo Switch or interacting with it on PC. From the Garden Bench menu, you can craft more seeds so long as you have at least one crop. For example, one turnip will convert to three turnip seeds.

Fae Farm is available on the Nintendo Switch and PC.
