How to Get to and Beat the Experimental Field Generator Boss in Genshin Impact

Unlike the Millennial Pearl Seahorse in Genshin Impact, the Experimental Field Generator Boss Prototype Cal. Breguet is much easier to find. This opponent is in a very straightforward spot in the Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering Region of the map. It also isn’t far from a Statue of the Seven that you may have unlocked near the Court of Fontaine region and is close to the Research Institute statue. Couple that with it being in a giant “circle” when you look at the overhead map and it being a straightforward fight, and getting its materials is easy.

Where in Genshin Impact can I find the Experimental Field Generator Prototype Cal. Breguet?

At the far north part of the same landmass where the city of Fontaine is located, you’ll see a Statue of the Seven fast travel point. It’s right near a broken bridge and on a building. Either journey to it or fast travel to that point. From there, run across the broken bridge, and essentially follow the road. You’ll encounter a few enemies, but this is honestly the fastest way.

After a brief bit of time on the new landmass, you’ll happen upon a standard teleport waypoint. South of it is a circular building. You can see it closer in the two maps I shared below.

The Experimental Field Generator Prototype Cal. Breguet boss is right inside that space. You don’t need to do anything special to reach it. Just walk right inside the ruins, down some steps, and you’re there.

How to beat the Genshin Impact Experimental Field Generator Prototype Cal. Breguet

I’m going to be honest with you and say that since I have Itto with his five-star Redhorn Stonethresher, my strategy for most any boss in Genshin Impact is to hit four times, use his charged attack, then repeat until whatever he’s facing is dead. For those who don’t go with that extremely complex strategy, don’t worry. The Experimental Field Generator is a very easy fight, even though it doesn’t have elemental weaknesses.

Think of it like any mechanical enemy in Genshin Impact. It’s going to use lasers and projectiles. It can have a phrase where it isn’t going to take as much damage due to buffs or shields. For one attack, it will have two lasers go in a circle. These are easily dodged, and you can run up under it to attack while it is in effect. It can also target you with missiles, which can be dodged if you stay moving. Honestly, many of its laser, missile, and bomb attacks are handled by just running or jumping. In particular, it sends out gravity waves when you see notices about a Gravity Reduction Field.

When that field is active, however, and you see the notice on-screen about gravity decreasing, it’s a perfect time to jump and unleash plunging attacks on the boss. (There’s even an achievement tied to doing this 11 times.) Also, Pneuma attacks can snap it out of this state and leave it stunned for a moment, if you want some attack opportunities. While Prototype Cal. Breguet will take less damage when this field is active, it’s probably one of the best and easiest times to deal damage to it.

Run and jump a lot, dealing attacks when you can, and you should be fine. Beat it and you’re guaranteed the Tourbillon Device you’ll need to build up Wriothesley, as well as Prithiva Topaz parts and the Gladiator’s Finale, Instructor, Traveling Doctor, Wanderer’s Troupe artifact pieces.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices.
