There are some new mounts for players to get in the Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail expansion, but one of the most intense will take you quite some time. The FFXIV Dawntrail Sugar Glider mount, known in-game as Ty’aitya, is going to require you to become a huge fan of FATEs if you aren’t already.

How to Unlock the Ty’aitya Sugar Glider Mount in FFXIV Dawntrail

There is only one way to get the Sugar Glider mount and it is quite the doozy. What players need to do is collect a whopping 500 Turali Bicolor Gemstone Vouchers. Once you have 500 of these, you need to take them to the following NPC vendors:

  • Edelina in Mor Dhona X: 22.2, Y: 4.9

There, you will be able to trade in the vouchers for this one-of-a-kind mount. Of course to obtain the actual vouchers in the first place, you need to trade 100 Bicolor Gemstones from the Tural continent over to one of these two NPCs for each voucher:

  • Kajeel Ja in Tuliyollal X: 12.8, Y: 13.0
  • Beryl in Solution Nine X: 8.4, Y: 14.0

How to Get Bicolor Gemstones Fast

If you did the math just now, you need 500 vouchers that cost 100 Bicolor Gemstones each, so you need a grand total of 50,000 Bicolor Gemstones to get the FFXIV Dawntrail Ty’aitya Sugar Glider mount. Yes, you read that number correctly. And to make matters worse, they need to, specifically, come from FATEs in the fifth expansion. Otherwise, it won’t work.

If that isn’t enough, you aren’t even able to get these vouchers in the first place until you reach rank four in all six Dawntrail zones. So, that should be your first goal but it won’t likely be enough to get the Bicolor Gemstones needed. Once you get to rank four, I suggest completing another objective at the same time.

For instance, you might want to do the lower level zones, such as the level 91-93 FATEs since they will be much easier to complete and you can level up an alt job. Or, you might want to tackle ones like The Serpentlord Seethes, which can get you a different mount at the same time. Regardless of what method, always have a decent party of at least a few players. You can all gather Bicolor Gemstones at the same time and get it done much faster.

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail is available right now for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
