How to Get the Meowmere Sword in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley has a neat reference to a certain other colorful indie darling in Terraria with the new Meowmere Sword. The Meowmere Sword released in update 1.6 for the farming indie title, but players will have to go through a couple of steps to obtain this one-of-a-kind crossover weapon.

Where to Get the Meowmere Sword

Oddly enough, the Meowmere Sword wasn’t even mentioned in the official 1.6 patch notes for this game. This is likely due to it being one of the secret items players are able to find. To get the Meowmere Sword, you need to first obtain the Far Away Stone. Once players have this magical stone, they are able to head to the location where this sword is found.

All you need to do with the Far Away Stone is go to the Wizard’s Tower in the southwestern corner of the world map. Go to the basement here and put the stone on the pedestal there. This will open up a portal that will grant you the Meowmere Sword in the end. However, the problem with this is getting the Far Away Stone in the first place.

How to Get the Far Away Stone in Stardew Valley

To even get the Far Away Stone in Stardew Valley for the Meowmere Sword, players must first get an Ancient Doll. Here are the ways to get the Ancient Doll:

  • Dig up one of the various artifact spots (worm spots) in the mountain, Cindersap Forest, by the bus stop, or within the town limits
  • Fishing it up in a chest
  • Opening up artifact troves
  • Receiving it as a gift from Jas, Leo, or Vincent during the Feast of the Winter Star event

The problem with all of these methods is the odds are quite low, so it can take a very long time of grinding fishing, digging up worms, and so on to find the Ancient Doll. Once you have it, take the Ancient Doll to the mines all the way down to level 100. Interact with the lava here to sacrifice the doll to receive the Far Away Stone for the Meowmere Sword.

Stardew Valley is available for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
