There are many different secrets and items players can unlock throughout Cyberpunk 2077. Even if you don’t have the Phantom Liberty DLC, you can get some unusual items. The base Cyberpunk 2077 game includes the option to even find Johnny Silverhand’s pistol, which is one of the iconic weapons you use during some of the key moments in the story. Unfortunately, there is only one way to get it.

How to unlock the Johnny Silverhand Malorian Arms 3516 gun in Cyberpunk 2077

What may be surprising to some players is you can’t get the Johnny Silverhand gun in Cyberpunk 2077 through the main story. Instead, you only find it through a side gig that Johnny gives you himself. This side gig is known as “Chippin’ In,” and it comes much later in the storyline when you are nearing the end.

This side quest is crucial to Johnny Silverhand’s storyline and even affects some of the endings you can get. The actual side gig itself is quite easy and straightforward, but you’ll need to do it if you want his gun. You’ll have to visit the Afterlife bar, then find out about a guy named Grayson who you’ll need to take down the for job.

You’ll then head to the marked location and there will be Grayson and a few other enemies there to take on. Defeat all of them, and Grayson will give you the option to spare his life or eliminate him. If you want to guarantee the gun, you’ll have to eliminate him for good. If you do so, you can pick up the Malorian Arms 3516 pistol, which is the same one Johnny used.

It is a highly powerful pistol and arguably the best one in the game. You are likely already pretty familiar with how it works due to some flashback sequences earlier in the game where you play as Johnny.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
