Where to find Jadeite Orb location in Dragon’s Dogma 2

A couple of hours into Dragon’s Dogma 2, you will find yourself traveling to the town of “Rest Town” after leaving the Capital of Vernworth. As soon as you take a few steps into Rest, a merchant named Offulve will approach you about a Jadeite Orb and give you a quest to track it down. Making the situation stranger is that a second merchant named Everard will also ask you to find the rare Jewelry piece and cut out the other seller. Confusing, right? We’ve got you covered, though, and have located the quest item!

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, the Jadeite Orb can be purchased at Ibrahim’s Scrap Store in Rest Town. Yep, you read that correctly. The “rare” item that is supposedly hard to find is in the same town as the quest. Were these merchants even looking? The Scrap Store is a bit hard to find at first in Rest Town, as it’s located in the back of the village, tucked away into a corner.

For your convenience, I have provided a map showing the exact location of the Jadeite Orb in Dragon’s Dogma 2:

The quickest way to get there is to take the alleyway that is between the Rest Town Inn. Or just make your way behind the Vocation Guild, and you will find the Scrap Shop nearby. Once here, speak to Ibrahim, and select the “Buy” button to look at the items he’s selling.

The Jadeite Orb in Dragon’s Dogma 2 can be purchased for 7,500 Gold from Ibrahim’s Scrap Store. Once in his items shop, look for the rare items directly under the Beastren Mask. Unfortunately, there is only one Jadeite Orb in the store. Now that you have the quest item, you need to know what to do with it. We’ll break down what you need to do next to complete the “Hunt for the Jadeite Orb” quest.

How to complete Hunt for the Jadeite Orb in Dragon’s Dogma 2

To complete the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you must use Ibrahim’s forgeries service and make a clone of the Jadeite Orb. I repeat, you must make a forgery of the Jadeite Orb or else you will fail the quest. After you purchase the quest item, speak to Ibrahim at his Scrap Store and select the “Forgeries” option in his dialogue menu. You will then need to hand the Jadeite Orb over to the NPC so he can make a forgery version of it.

Below are the steps to complete Hunt for the Jadeite Orb:

  • Travel to Rest Town and speak to the merchant named Offulve to get the quest.
  • Walk to the back of the town and find Ibrahim’s Scrap Store behind the Vocation Guild.
  • Purchase the Jadeite Orb for 7,500 Gold.
  • Speak to Ibrahim again, and this time select “Forgeries” from his dialogue menu.
  • Have Ibrahim make a second copy of the Jadeite Orb with his Forgery service.
  • Return to the Scrap Store after a few days and pick up the two Jadeite Orbs.
  • Finally, speak to Offulve and give him the real Jadeite Orb. Next, speak to Everard and give him the fake Jadeite Orb.

Forgeries can take a few days to complete, so you may need to travel to another city and sleep until morning. In my game, Ibrahim wouldn’t complete the forgery for almost a week. So, I just went off to complete other quests before eventually returning. However once it’s done, you will have two Jadeite Orb’s in Dragon’s Dogma 2. The quest will become completed once you give the two Jadeite Orb to each vendor.

Who should you deliver the Jadeite Orb to in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

As stated above, you actually need to deliver the Jadeite Orb to both Offulve and Everard to complete the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2. If you deliver the Jadeite Orb to only one of the merchants without making a forgery copy of it at Ibrahim’s Scrap Store, then the quest will become broken. And because you no longer have the Jadeite Orb to clone it, the quest remains frozen until you can find another Orb – which we haven’t been able to find (even 100 hours into the game).

However, once you have two Jadeite Orbs you may still be wondering which Merchant you should give the real one to. The answer is, it doesn’t really matter. In my game, I gave the real Jadeite Orb to Offulve to help him secure his freedom. I mean come on, how could not help him? I then gave the forgery version to Everard to complete the quest. But you can do the opposite and still finish the side quest. So it’s entirely up to you!

The Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2 can be a bit confusing at first due to it relying on the forgery system. Up to this point in the game, the mechanic had never been introduced. It’s also far too easy to accidentally purchase the Jadeite Orb and then run off to deliver it as soon as you are able to.

If you accidentally delivered the Jadeite Orb before making a clone of it, I would check back at Ibrahim’s Scrap Store later in the game. He has a section called “Special Finds” which are past items you dropped, sold, or lost. The Jadeite Orb may eventually show back up here. But expect to pay eye-popping prices. For example, he wanted to sell me the Royal Palace garments for 100,000 Gold when you can get them for free in Vernworth.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X / S, and PC.
