There are many ways to express yourself in Final Fantasy XIV, with emotes being a very popular choice. Happy? Perform a dance. Feeling silly? Drop on the floor and play dead. Just won a battle? Fist pump the air. If you don’t have the Fist Pump Emote, here’s how to get it for yourself using the Ballroom Etiquette – Overzealous Affirmations item in FFXIV.

How do I get the Fist Pump emote in FFXIV?

The Fist Pump Emote (not to be confused with the similarly-named Fist Bump emote) is obtained via the Ballroom Etiquette – Overzealous Affirmations book in FFXIV. To get your hands on the book via regular gameplay, you must open up a Moisture-warped Lockbox found in The Forbidden Land, Eureka Hydatos, which is a level 70 Instance. A Moisture-warped Lockbox is a rare drop found when defeating enemies in Eureka Hydatos.

Once you’ve got your hands on a Moisture-warped Lockbox, take it to R’ghonati in Kugane (x7.9, y14.1) to unlock the contents inside. If you’re lucky, you’ll get Ballroom Etiquette – Overzealous Affirmations. Alternatively, you can purchase the book on the Market Board, though it’s expensive. If spending Gil is your preferred method, don’t be afraid to shop around between servers. For example, it’s currently selling for 100,000 Gil on my server, but is going for 52,000 Gil on another server in my Data Center.

With Ballroom Etiquette – Overzealous Affirmations in your FFXIV inventory, click on it and select ‘Use’ to unlock the Fist Pump emote for your character. You can equip it to your hotbar in the Emotes menu, which is found in the main menu under the Social tab.

Final Fantasy XIV is available to play now on the PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 and is coming to the Xbox Series X in Spring 2024. A paid monthly subscription is required.
