It may surprise you to find that one of the rarer items to come across in Super Mario RPG is … a cookie. Let’s go over how to get the Carbo Cookie in Super Mario RPG.

How do I get a Super Mario RPG Carbo Cookie?

The only hint in-game that the Carbo Cookie even exists is a little, yellow-haired mole girl in a bucket in Moleville. Talk to her, and she’ll say she’s hungry for a Carbo Cookie. Since this is an RPG, that’s now your party’s problem.

Luckily, Mario can get his hands on a Carbo Cookie by doing a little trade sequence without even leaving Moleville! First, head over to the house above the shop and talk to the dad mole inside. He’ll sell you Fireworks for 500 coins.

Take your fireworks and find the mole girl running her “pur-tend” store near the actual one. She’ll swap you those fireworks for the Shiny Stone. We sort of paid a lot for those, so I’m not sure the deal is fair, but alas.

Keep in mind, the Shiny Stone is actually used to fight the secret boss as well. Now might be a good time to take care of that if you haven’t yet.

Finally, take your Shiny Stone to the store. Inside it, the little mole near the bookshelf will trade your Shiny Stone for a Carbo Cookie.

Technically speaking, the Carbo Cookie does nothing for Mario and his party. The only purpose of the Carbo Cookie is to give it to the hungry mole girl in the bucket.

However, once she has it you can actually enter the bucket. This will teleport you to Midas River and allow you to go through it again, but this time you get to keep all your coins.

You can actually repeat this trade sequence multiple times, but further trades with the mole girl will result in Frog Coins. This is, however, a decent way to farm Frog Coins.

Super Mario RPG is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
