Caesper is a sleeping Lynx in Mereldar who acts as a Rare Treasure encounter in the Hallowfall area of Khaz Algar. While interacting with him grants a clue, it’s very vague, so here’s how to get the treasure from Caesper in WoW: The War Within.

Where to find Caesper in WoW: The War Within

You can find Caesper sleeping soundly just outside of Mereldar, just take the road south out the town and he’ll be almost immediately on your right in the camp area. You’ll likely see his treasure icon on your minimap several times as you quest in and around Hallowfall.

How to feed Caesper in WoW: The War Within

While not immediately clear from the hint, what you need is a tasty treat to wake the cat up with. If you fly over to Dunelle’s Kindness, one of the first towns you visit in Hallowfall, you’ll find a stable full of lynxes. Talk to the Stable Master and click the option “I’m looking for a lost companion” to open his buy screen, and buy the Meaty Haunch for 20 gold. Take this back to Caesper and he’ll wake up and lead you to his treasure.

The reward for feeding Caesper in WoW: The War Within is 2 units of the food Exquisitely Eviscerated Muscle, the recipe for said dish, and either some Hallowfall Arathi Reputation or some Resonance Crystals depending on if it’s the first time you’ve claimed the reward. The food will be useful as it grants a bonus to movement speed, but naturally those with the cooking profession will get the most mileage out of this reward.
