In Dragon’s Dogma 2, Rift Crystals are an important currency players will need to obtain to recruit Pawns. This guide breaks down the best ways to obtain RC in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
What is RC used for in Dragon’s Dogma 2
As mentioned previously, RC is used to recruit Pawns and get unique items. This includes The Art of Metamorphosis, which allows players to change the appearance of their player character and Pawn. While you can get Pawns for RC in the wild, or even in the Rift, the ones that cost in the hundreds are more than worth it. I mentioned in my Dragon’s Dogma 2 review that there was one Pawn I acquired for 999 RC that more or less carried me into the last section of the game.
These Pawns tend to have completely leveled up Vocations, and even some unique Meister skills. This makes recruiting these Pawns extremely worthwhile since they generally have access to loads of Augments and great gear. Keep in mind, however, the Pawns you can recruit in Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be roughly around your own level.
Best RC farming method in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Now, the best ways to obtain RC in Dragon’s Dogma 2 are through one of two ways. The first is locating Riftstones on your map. By activating a Riftstone, you will receive 30 RC, give or take. These can be stumbled across as you explore. Pawns will generally alert you to their presence, but they look like a collection of circular stones with a bunch of broken rocks in the middle. Restoring the Rifstone nets you a good chunk of RC instantly.
However, the second and best way to get RC in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is through players recruiting your Pawn and completing Pawn Missions. I was able to farm hundreds of RC this way with little effort. Pawn Missions are objectives you can assign your Pawn, for example, killing a specific type of enemy or camping in a specific zone. Once this is completed, you will receive RC when you rest at an inn.
This is the only way to receive that RC and any items players may have given your Pawn as thanks for their service. So make sure to treat your Pawns well and equip them with good gear. It will make a difference in terms of who may or may not recruit them.
