Most materials drop literally all the time in Final Fantasy XVI. You will basically never run out of them, due to all creatures apparently stowing away Sharp Fangs and Wyrrite and stores even carrying them. Which is fine. Most recipes at the Blacksmith don’t really require anything fancy. However, if you’re going to try and craft the “Blacksmith’s Blues IV” Gotterdammerung for Clive in Final Fantasy XVI, you’re going to need three pieces of Orichalcum and may be wondering how and where you get it. That’s a bit trickier to find.

How do you get Orichalcum in Final Fantasy XVI?

There are a number of ways to get Orichalcum in Final Fantasy XVI. I’ve only found three pieces of Orichalcum while playing, which is the exact amount you need to forge Gotterdammerung. The first two are dropped by Notorious Mark enemies, and the third appeared as a sidequest reward. All of these showed up around the latter half of the game around the story quests “Across the Narrow” and “Back to Their Origin,” so you won’t get to spend a lot of time swinging that sword around.

The two Notorious Marks that drop it are The Breaker of Worlds Atlas and Tricephalic Terror Gorgimera. These are both S-rank hunts. Each one appears at level 45. They’ll also be the first two pieces of the material you can get, as these quests can be found around the same time you’ll be heading to complete “Across the Narrow.”

As for the third piece, it’s a reward for Dame Isabella’s “Under New Management II” questline. A prerequisite for getting that is to complete “Under New Management,” as you might expect. It drops one piece of Orichalcum in Final Fantasy XVI, as well as a Veil Signboard for Clive’s room at the hideaway and a Meteorite.

Final Fantasy XVI is available for the PlayStation 5. A demo is out now as well. There is a six-month exclusivity period.
