How do Sub-Personas work in Persona 5 Tactica?

Gathering new Persona isn’t just about amassing a diverse collection. Equipping an acquired Persona as a Sub-Persona on your characters significantly influences their combat capabilities.

A character will gain boosts to their HP, SP, melee damage, and gun damage dependent on the equipped Persona. Also, equipped Sub-Persona will provide up to two extra skills to a character’s movepool, providing a strategic edge in battles. These can be active skills you can use or passive ones, with the second skill being one picked up via fusions.

Fusion is the source of many of the Persona, combining two or more to create a new, often more powerful, one. However, the fusion system can sometimes require some experimentation and you’ll need lots more fusion material.

How do I get more Personas in Persona 5 Tactica?

Defeating enemies and successfully navigating through levels is the main way outside of fusion to acquire Persona. At the end of every stage, between one and four Persona will drop, depending on your performance. To maximize your Persona collection, focus on completing optional objectives within levels, as doing so often results in increased possibilities for drops.

If a Persona drops you already have, you don’t get a second one of it. Instead, the owned one gains experience points. This is because you can only have one copy of each Persona at a time.

Additionally, make sure to do side quests! Some offer specific Persona as rewards upon successful completion. Completing all the quests in a chapter will also unlock an exclusive Persona available for fusion, so you’ll want to finish each one.

For those looking to boost their Persona-hunting success, obtaining the “Keen Eye” Sub-Persona skill is a game-changer. This skill enhances your chance of rare Persona drops, increasing the odds of obtaining more elusive and powerful entities. It’s a valuable asset for dedicated players aiming to complete the compendium.

Persona 5 Tactica is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
