Mystery boxes have been added in the Stardew Valley 1.6 update and are awaiting players to find and open them. Here is how to get Mystery Boxes in Stardew Valley 1.6 and what happens when you open them.
How to Open Mystery Boxes in Stardew Valley 1.6
To unlock the Mystery Boxes, you need to keep playing your current playthrough of the game until you go to sleep and have a little cutscene. This cutscene will show Mr. Qi flying a plane and dropping off some mystery boxes overnight. This is a bit misleading, as it seems like you can find these mystery boxes throughout the world while exploring.
However, this isn’t exactly the case. Instead, you need to do regular objectives in the game like digging up goods, chopping down trees, bashing rocks, fishing, and so on. As you go about these activities, you will have a random chance of finding one of these mystery boxes.
All Items inside Mystery Boxes in Stardew Valley
Once you have a mystery box or two in your inventory, you want to treat it like it is a geode in Stardew Valley. Take it to Clint the Blacksmith while his shop is open. You’ll have to pay 25 gold per mystery box you have in your inventory for him to smash it open for your random prize.
Here are the items we know of so far in the game that you are able to get from the mystery box:
- Bomb
- Coffee
- Corn seeds
- Deluxe speed-gro
- Hardwood
- Jade ring
- Lobster bisque
- Lucky lunch
