How to Get Munkidori in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Munkidori is a new Legendary Pokemon you can catch in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC. However, you will need to find where it’s located on the Kitakami map after unlocking its encounter in the story. Here is how to get Munkidori in The Teal Mask.

How to get Munkidori in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask

Munkidori only becomes available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after you complete The Teal Mask DLC story. During the school trip, the campaign will eventually have you facing off against the Loyal Three Legendary trio. But after defeating Munkidori, it will run away and disappear into the Kitakami region.

Once you reach the “to be continued” scene at the end of the story, Munkidori will then become unlocked as an encounter on the map in the same place you originally battled its titan version. After fighting it a second time, you will be able to catch the Kitakami Legendary.

Where to find Munkidori’s location in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask

Munkidori is located in south Wistful Fields in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The Loyal Three Legendary can be found in front of the lake West of the Apple Hills region. After you have beaten the Teal Mask DLC, you will be able to find the new Pokemon standing in the overworld. To battle Munkidori, just walk up to it and press the A button on your controller.

Because of its Psychic and Poison-typing, you should avoid using Pokemon that are Fighting, Grass, or Fairy. The mischievous monkey can also pack a punch, as it spams Nasty Plot to boost its Sp. Atk, and uses Future Sight and Sludge Wave to heavily damage your Pokemon.

Can Munkidori be Shiny in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

Unfortunately, Munkidori is Shiny locked in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This means you will not be able to catch a Shiny Munkidori in The Teal Mask. If past games are anything to go by, the Loyal Three Legendary will likely get a Shiny release at a later date.
