Where to find Meloetta in Pokemon Indigo Disk

One of the hardest challenges of obtaining the Gen V Mythical is actually finding it, as its location was completely unknown. The Pokemon is so rare that it took players three days to find it after the Indigo Disk DLC release. Thankfully, once you know where to look, it’s fairly easy.

Meloetta is located in a meadow in the Coastal Biome east of the Coastal Outdoor classroom in Pokemon Indigo Disk. You will know you have found the right location because a gust of wind and leaves will start swirling, and the overworld music will start to lower. However, if you want the exact location, I’ve got you covered.

Below is a map of the location where Meloetta spawns in the Pokemon Indigo Disk:

Once you find the location, you must have your character spin in a circle for up to 10 seconds. After you are done, pull out your camera and switch to the Sepia filter to find Meloetta. You can compare your in-game radar to mine if you need a clearer look at where to stand. Here is the exact spot you need to stand to find Meloetta:

How to get Meloetta in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Knowing where to find Meloetta is only half the battle, as encountering the Unova Mythical requires a pretty bizarre ritual. In fact, I’m still confused about how the community solved this because the steps are really that obscure!

Below are the steps you need to take to get Meloetta in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet:

  • Fast travel to the Coastal Outdoor Classroom warp point in the Coastal Biome.
  • Head to the Meadow east of the Coastal Outdoor Classroom. Look for the spot where a gust of wind is blowing, and the music in the overworld gets quiet.
  • Once you are in the correct spot, rotate the left joystick on your controller to make your character spin. Make sure your character spins for a total of 10 seconds.
  • Pull out your camera by clicking down on the D-Pad. Next, press right on the D-Pad and select the Sepia filter.
  • With the Sepia filter on, rotate your camera around the field until you see Meloetta hovering in the meadow.
  • Walk up to Meloetta and press the A button to trigger a battle with the Mythical Pokemon.

How to get Meloetta Pirouette Forme in Pokemon Indigo Disk

When you catch Meloetta the Mythical will be in its Aria Forme. For those new to the franchise, you may be wondering how to trigger its second forme. To get Meloetta Pirouette Forme in Pokemon Indigo Disk, you must use the “Relic Song” move while in battle.

Unfortunately, Meloetta will transform back to its Aria Forme after the battle is over. But it’s still neat to see her secondary music-themed look.

Can Meloetta be Shiny in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

Meloetta is Shiny-locked in the Pokemon Indigo Disk DLC. This means that Meloetta cannot be Shiny hunted in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Like the 25 Legendary Pokemon given to you by Snackworth, even the Mythical Pokemon in this game have their Shiny form blocked by Game Freak. So, if you want a Shiny Meloetta in Paldea, you must transfer one from the Pokemon HOME app if you’ve caught one.
