Where to find Fruit Wine location in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Many players are trying to find Fruit Wine in Dragon’s Dogma 2, as it allows you to craft Newt Liqueur. The rare beverage is one of the hardest items to get in the game due to it being sold at a hidden store in Bakbattahl. The coveted alcohol is needed to complete “The Sotted Sage” quest, which is how you unlock the Warfarer Vocation. However, if you manage to get Fruit Wine, you can actually craft the item yourself.
You can get Fruit Wine as a gift from Captain Brandt in Dragon’s Dogma 2 after you purchase a house in Vernworth for 20,000 Gold. After completing the quest “A Place to Call Home,” an NPC named Mildred will offer to sell you the place. Once you’ve purchased your new abode, Captain Brandt will give you Fruit Wine as a housewarming gift. However, you may need to raise your affinity with Brandt first, which can be done by completing a few main story missions.

How to buy a house in Dragon’s Dogma 2
You can buy a house in Dragon’s Dogma 2 after starting the quest “A Place to Call Home” in Vernworth Capital. While walking around the Common Quarter District, players can bump into an NPC named Mildred. The character will ask you to housesit for her while she goes on vacation.
After a week, Mildred will return and ask if you want to buy the home. The sizable house can be purchased for 20,000 Gold and gives you a free place to sleep, so you don’t need to use the Inn anymore. For your convenience, here is a map that shows the general location Mildred can be found walking around in Vernworth:
To complete the “A Place to Call Home” quest, you just need to let a week of in-game time pass. The easiest way to do this is just to complete a few main story quests or side quests. A week will go by in half an hour or less. Once that happens, return to Mildred, and she will give you the option to buy the house. If you don’t have the money yet, don’t worry; you can say “no” and then return at a later time to purchase it.
How to get Fruit Wine in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Now that you own a house, you can get Fruit Wine in Dragon’s Dogma 2 by visiting your home and picking up the mail left at your door. On the right side of the door will be a sack hanging on the wall. Interact with it to pick up gifts that have been sent to your place.
If you don’t see the Fruit Wine at your house in Dragon’s Dogma 2, it means that you need to increase your affinity with Captain Brandt a little further. Make sure to complete a handful of main story quests with him, and eventually, he will send the Fruit Wine to your abode. I had already completed two main story missions in my game, so the Fruit Wine was already waiting for me at my house.
At the time of writing, Fruit Wine can not be crafted or purchased at any merchant in the game. However, there is another way you can get your hands on the spirits. Below are the steps you can take to get Fruit Wine in Dragon’s Dogma 2:
- Complete the “A Place to Call Home” quest in Vernworth and buy the house from Mildred for 20,000 Gold. Captain Brandt will send you Fruit Wine as a gift.
- Befriend other citizens of Vernworth by giving them gifts. After giving them enough gifts, you will have a chance to receive Fruit Wine from these NPCs.
- Speak to any NPC and press “Square” (PlayStation) or “X” Xbox to open up the “gift menu.” Give them Bunch of Flowers or rare stones like Jasper as gifts.
- Keep giving NPCs gifts to increase your relationship with them, and then go sleep at an Inn. Speak to them again, and they may give you Fruit Wine.
How to Craft Newt Liqueur in Dragon’s Dogma 2 with Fruit Wine
The entire point of this guide is ultimately to get Newt Liqueur, as it’s needed for “The Sotted Sage” quest on the Volcanic Island. In Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can craft Newt Liqueur by combining the Fruit Wine with another disgusting ingredient. You might be able to guess based on the “Newt” in the name.
Here are the steps to craft Newt Liqueur in Dragon’s Dogma 2:
- Obtain Fruit Wine and a Saurian Tail.
- Pause your game and go to the items menu.
- From your inventory screen, press “Square” (PlayStation) or “X” (Xbox) to access the “Combine Menu.”
- Combine 1 Fruit Wine with 1 Saurian Tail to make Newt Liqueur.
You can easily find Saurian Tail by traveling around the map just north of Melve. Just kill the enemies and then interact with their bodies for a chance to pick up a tail. Once you have both items, you can combine them in the menu you make Newt Liqueur. As mentioned above, the rare alcohol can then be turned into Lamond in the Volcanic Island Camp.
After receiving it, he will then teach you the Warfarer Vocation. However, you will need three Newt Liqueurs to complete “The Sotted Sage.” That means you will need to track down three Fruit Wine bottles if you are looking at crafting your way out of the tedious sidequest.
