The Final Fantasy XIV Yokai Watch event is finally back, bringing back one of the best limited-time celebrations in the MMORPG’s history. Fans collect Yokai medals, which they then turn in to get various minions, a mount, and even some weapons later on. Here’s how to get all minions, mounts, and weapons in the FFXIV Yokai Watch event.
How to Get Yokai Medals and Minions in the FFXIV Yokai Watch Event
The bulk of the fun during the Yokai Watch event is to do FATEs. First, you want to head to Ul’dah if you have never done this event before. Start with the quest from the Poor-heeled Youth in the Steps of Nald at X: 9.2, Y: 9.1. You need to be level 15 or higher and have done the level 15 Main Scenario Quest.
The goal to gain Yokai medals is to equip the Yokai Watch on your character as an accessory and then head to any of the following places to do any and all FATEs:
- La Noscea
- Black Shroud
- Thanalan
- All Heavensward regions
- All Stormblood regions
Where to Trade for Yokai Watch Minions and Weapons
As you do FATEs, you’ll gain Yokai medals. You can then take them to the Gold Saucer to the NPC at X: 5.2, Y: 6.9. Each minion costs three Yokai medals to get. This means you need to do 51 FATEs for all of them. Here are all of the minions you can collect during this FFXIV Yokai Watch event:

- Komasan
- USApyon
- Whisper
- Shogunyan
- Hovernyan
- Komajiro
- Noko
- Venoct
- Kyubi
- Robonyan F-type
- Blizzaria
- Manjimutt
- Lord Enma
- Lord Ananta
- Zazel
- Damona
After you obtain 13 of the 17 Yokai Watch minions, you will also get the Whisper-go mount for free. With 17 minions collected, you’ll get the new Yokai Watch frame for your character portrait. But the celebration doesn’t stop there.
There are legendary Yokai medals you can get, in addition to the regular ones, by equipping a Yokai as your minion and doing FATEs. These are unique to each Yokai and collecting enough will allow you to obtain their special weapon. There is a weapon for each of the jobs up to Shadowbringers.
Final Fantasy XIV is available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This Yokai Watch event is available until the start of Dawntrail.
