There are six kinds of animals players can care for in Fae Farm. Players have the option of ranching Chickoos (chickens), Cottontails (rabbits), Woolyhorn (sheep), Mamoo (cows), and the Spriggans and Lunens fae beasts. Chickoos and Cottontails will be kept in your Animal Coops, while Woolyhorns and Mamoos will reside in Barns. Spriggans and Lunens reside in your Fae Pen. All of these animals can be purchased from special NPCs.

The rancher NPCs you can purchase animals from in this game are named Earline, Jeremiah, and Reyglor. Earline and Jeremiah will both be on the far left side of the world map in the Plains of Plenty. By opening the minus button on your Nintendo Switch or opening the world map on PC, you can track their location by selecting the Plains of Plenty and then either Earline or Jeremiah. You can only buy Jeremiah’s animals after clearing “A Watery Wonder.” Reyglor will only appear in the Fae Realm after clearing the “Sour but Sweet” story quest and finishing chapter five.

How can I make animals follow me in Fae Farm?

After purchasing them, animals will follow you back to your Animal Coop, Barn, or Fae Pen. You need to take them to one of these places to “register” them as your new animal and assign them a home. You may be wondering if you can have animals follow you around more than just this once. Luckily, you can.

By interacting with your Ledger stationed directly in front of your Animal Coop, Barn, or Fae Pen, you can view a list of animals and select one to follow you. Press the Y button on whichever animal you’d like to have them follow you around and get some fresh air. Don’t forget to give them a pet by pressing the A button on your Nintendo Switch or interacting with them on your PC.

What can I harvest from ranching animals?

As you might expect, Chickoos will yield you eggs you can sell or cook over a campfire to give you a moderate energy boost when eaten. Cottontails, as the name implies, provide cotton. Woolyhorn can be sheared for their wool. Mamoo provide milk. Lunens drop silk and Spriggans shed leaves that can be used to create beds of fae soil. Fae soil allows you to grow fae crops outside of Fae Acres. All of these items are also materials or ingredients for other recipes.

Fae Farm is available on the Nintendo Switch and PC.
