Where do I get Murmuring Obols in Diablo IV?

The main method of obtaining Murmuring Obols in Diablo IV is through World Events. These appear as orange circles on your map and contain an instance you must complete. If successful, the reward chest will drop some. You’ll receive more if you achieve Mastery in a World Event, which requires completing a certain objective.

You can also get them from Dungeon Events, Gathering Legions Zone Events, and some reward caches upon completing various side quests. But finishing World Events is the quickest way to farm Murmuring Obols.

Note that you can only carry 500 at once before you’re capped out, though you can raise this by increasing your Renown and by activating Altars of Lilith.

How do I spend Murmuring Obols in Diablo IV?

With Murmuring Obols in hand, head to a Purveyor of Curiosities. A few are scattered around Sanctuary, but one of the easiest to find is Lizveth in Kyovashad. Simply warp in and head southeast to find her. Her icon appears on your map as a sack with a question mark inside.

Murmuring Obols are spent to get a random roll on a piece of equipment or a Whispering Key. If you’re lucky, the equipment you roll will be Rare or Legendary rarity! You can roll for the following in Diablo IV:

  • Weapon
  • Tunic
  • Cap
  • Gloves
  • Boots
  • Pants
  • Shield
  • Amulet
