Those players in Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail who are leveling up their Culinarian crafting job will want to keep an eye out for the new crafting materials. One such material is the Megamaguey Pineapple in FFXIV Dawntrail, which lets you craft one of the most valuable early expansion food materials.

Where to Get Megamaguey Pineapple in FFXIV

Fortunately, there are a few different ways to get the Megamaguey Pineapple and it all comes down to your personal preference. Here are the main ways you can get this food material:

  • Trade for FATE Gemstones in Urqopacha, Tuliyollal, and Solution Nine (Costs 3 Gemstones each)
  • Defeat Megamaguey
  • Retainer Hunting Ventures (Level 91, specifically)
  • Market Board

If you want to gather these pineapples the natural way, I recommend heading to find some Megamaguey in Urqopacha. They are usually right around X: 18.2, Y: 12.6. They don’t guarantee a pineapple drop each time you defeat one so you may have to take out a few. If you want the fastest and easiest way of getting these pineapples, I suggest hitting up the Market Board where others are selling them.

All Megamaguey Pineapple Crafting Recipes

Once you have a Megamaguey Pineapple in FFXIV Dawntrail, you are now ready to use it. At this time, there is only one crafting recipe that uses this material. You need to have a level 91 Culinarian or higher if you want to successfully be able to make the following recipe:

  • Cooking Mezcal (makes three at once): 5 Megamaguey Pineapples, 8 Fire Crystals

This Cooking Mezcal is not itself a meal. It is also a food material item, much like the pineapple. The purpose of the Mezcal is for use in about seven different major cooking recipes for Culinarian.

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail is available right now for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
