How to Unlock Agent Smith in MulitVersus

Unlike other characters, Agent Smith can’t yet be unlocked using Gleamium or Fighter Credits. Instead, Agent Smith requires participation in an in-game event running from May 27th to July 30th.

This is currently the only way to access Agent Smith. However, don’t worry too much about the date you have a while. Here’s how to unlock him for free and secure an exclusive variant as well.

Agent Smith MultiVersus Rift Event Explained

To unlock Agent Smith, you’ll need to participate in the game’s event that focuses on completing rifts. Rifts are a special PvE mode that pits players against certain AI opponents. There are certain bonuses you can accumulate for yourself to use only in this mode called Gems.

By consistently engaging with multiple rifts as they become available, players can gradually earn the progress needed to unlock Agent Smith. You’ll need to defeat the bosses at the end of multiple Rifts to fully complete the event and unlock Agent Smith.

During this event period, completing the necessary challenges will not only unlock Agent Smith but also provide an exclusive variant of the character. This variant is unique to the event and won’t be available through any other means. Additionally, completing the event will reward players with enough Fighter Currency to purchase another character of their choice.

However, Agent Smith will be coming to the store after the event. He will be purchasable with Gleamium or Fighter Credit at that time. Agent Smith is the first of many likely characters to be unlocked through events. This sets a precedent for future content in MultiVersus.

MultiVersus is currently free-to-play on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
