How to unlock a horse in My Time at Sandrock

Horses are a type of mount in Sandrock that you can rent from Cooper’s Mount Shop after completing the “Learning To Ride” quest with Elsie. Horses can be rented for seven days for either 500, 1500, or 2500 Gol, depending on the rarity.

Initially, rented horses return to the Wandering Y Ranch stable each night after the player goes to bed. However, you can build a stable for your own workshop via Construction Junction. Doing this will allow your rented horse to remain in your stable.

Building a stable requires the following resources:

  • 1,000g
  • 10 Hardwood Sticks
  • Five Rubber Shells
  • Five Steel Bars

Once you have your stable, it’s possible to buy a horse from the Wandering Y Ranch.

How to own a horse in My Time at Sandrock

Wandering Y Ranch sells horses to the player for 10 times the price of renting. Prices range from 5000, 15000, or 25000 Gol, depending on the mount’s rarity level. Once the horse is yours, you’ll need to take care of it. You can feed horses a variety of options, though their favorite food is desert mushrooms.

Feeding your horse these will increase it’s loyalty points by two. Loyalty points will help to increase your horse’s stamina and speed when it hits 20,50 and 100. Horses also gain three loyalty when you ride them during the day.

You can check your horse’s stats anytime at the stable. Take care of your horse, and eventually, you’ll have a solid maxed-out companion who will help you get around wherever you need to go in Sandrock.

My Time at Sandrock is available now for the PS5, Switch, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
