Wizardsbane Oil is one of the most powerful potions you can craft in Baldur’s Gate 3, but it requires the ingredient Gremishka Tail. This elusive ingredient can only be found in a single place in the entire massive RPG, so be prepared to take a trek to locate it.

Where to Find the Gremishka Tail in Baldur’s Gate 3

To find the Gremishka Tail in Baldur’s Gate 3, you need to go to the Rosymorn Monastery where the Githyanki Crèche is. You can find this location during both Acts 1 and 2. It is in the Mountain Pass area, which you can use as a way to get to the Shadow-Cursed Lands in Act 2.

When you arrive at the Rosymorn Monastery, you need to explore this location thoroughly. Oddly enough, the Grimeshka enemies are the only ones in the game who drop these tails, but it is hard to find them. I’ve found they will, instead, randomly attack you out of nowhere while you are exploring.

Don’t worry, as they don’t deal much damage at all. However, the problem is these rat-like creatures will attack and nearly instantly go invisible. They’ll then run away, and it is impossible to attack them to take their tails.

The only way to attack the Gremishka enemies and take their tails is to have a Potion of See Invisibility, the similarly named spell, or to let Volo experiment on your eye back at the camp. Any of these three routes will allow you to see invisible enemies like the Gremishka.

Once you are able to see them in the Rosymorn Monastery, you can attack them and actually deal some damage. It doesn’t take much to take out these vulnerable little critters. You can then loot their bodies for their Gremishka Tails.

These tails are used in the creation of the Wizardsbane Oil, which you can use to debuff enemy magical users with a minus three to their attack rolls.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for the PS5 and PC, and will release for the Xbox Series X in 2023.
