Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life brings back the classic PS2 and GameCube entry in the long-running farm sim series with a nice mix of nostalgia and freshness. At the beginning of the game, players are offered a dog, but what about the cat lovers out there? Fortunately, there is a way to get a cat in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life.

Oddly enough, the game forces you to play for a considerable amount of time before you can get your own feline friend. You’ll have to keep playing until you reach the second year of the game at the least. For me, the cat event happened right at the beginning of my second Fall.

All you need to do is walk into your house in the middle of the day during the Fall in Year 2 and you’ll receive an event where the kind old cat lady Romana visits you at your farm. At this point, she will offer you one of her cats that she can no longer keep, providing you with a new pet pal.

Can You Customize the Cat in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life?

What is strange about the cat in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is that there is very little you can do with them in terms of customization options. Unlike the dogs at the beginning of the game and the customizable horse later down the line, it appears that your only option is the default black cat Romana offers you.

However, you do at least get to name the cat whatever you want, so go ahead and pick whatever cutesy name you think fits this cat well, such as Sabrina or Neko.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is available on Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
