One of the best parts of the finale of any Persona title is fusing incredibly powerful Personas. Let’s break down everything you need to fuse one of the best Personas in Persona 3 Reload, which is Thanatos.

How do I unlock Thanatos in Persona 3 Reload?

Like almost all of the best Personas in Persona 3 Reload, Thanatos is the reward for mastering a social link. If you’re after Thanatos, and you should be, then you’ll need to max out your bond with Pharos of the Death social Link. Now, the obvious good news here is that this social link automatically maxes over the course of the storyline.

So once you reach that point in the storyline, you’ll simply need to get to level 78 to have the ability to fuse Thanatos. However, if you’re a little short you can follow some of our tips to hit that target level.

How do I fuse Thanatos in Persona 3 Reload?

Thanatos is a special fusion, so therefore there is a set recipe every time you fuse it. The recipe is as follows:

  • Alice
  • Loa
  • Mot
  • Pale Rider
  • Pisaca
  • Samael

Pale Rider and Alice are both special fusions also, so getting them is straightforward. However, For the rest of the characters you may need to navigate through your compendium to find the right ingredients.

Once Thanatos is born, he’s invaluable to the team. His massive magic stat, paired with his devastating dark attacks, can absolutely demolish mobs and help with all late game content. He also learns Enduring Soul at Level 80, which fully restores your HP upon death once per battle.

Finally, Thanatos is also one of the ingredients to fuse the Persona Messiah, along with the starter Persona Orpheus.

Persona 3 Reload is now available on the PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S.
