Warzone Season 1 menu loop bug explained

This Warzone Season 1 menu loop error occurs when the player boots up MW3. Per usual, the game will attempt to connect to the online servers before showing the player all of the various game modes they have access to. Usually, the game will connect to the online servers easily, but this error keeps players in an infinite menu loop.

How it works is the game will say it is fetching data from the online servers, and it will then show the main menu for a split second before going back to fetching again. It will keep doing this infinitely. This prevents the player from being able to do anything from editing load-outs to playing modes and more.

How to fix this problem

There are a couple of possible ways to remedy this issue, but you should know we will likely have to wait for a permanent fix from Activision to resolve it completely. Until then, these are some temporary bandaids you can apply. First, restart the game and see if you can get past the loop.

The other method, according to some Reddit users, requires you to mash the start button on your controller (escape button on keyboard) over and over. This normally brings up the settings menu, but if you press this at the right time when the main menu shows up for a split second, the settings menu will come up. You will then be freed from the loop finally. But you may have to use this method again in the future until a fix happens.

Call of Duty Warzone Season 1 Reloaded is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
