Where to find the Bookseller location in Stardew Valley 1.6

Players can find the Bookseller on the eastern side of their town in Stardew Valley 1.6. Marcello, the shopkeeper, has a little stand for his books just north of the JojaMart on the eastern side of the main river in town. The bookshop is a tiny little shack outdoors that you can run up to and buy books from.

The catch is that the new Stardew Valley 1.6 Bookseller is only a seasonal NPC trader who shows up every once in a while in the town, so he won’t always be there. Like the traveling merchant, you will not want to miss out as he won’t be available during most days in the game. In my game, the Bookseller first appeared on Friday, September 12, during Spring.

Bookseller Schedule in Stardew Valley 1.6 and Items Explained

What is odd about the Bookseller in Stardew Valley 1.6 is he only shows up twice a season. From what we can tell so far, it appears like these two dates are seemingly randomly decided each season. However, what you can do is check the town calendar as soon as a new season begins, and it will show you the two dates he will appear for that particular month.

Based on my game, it seems like there are generally 10 days between his visits, such as on the 11th and 21st of the month or the 12th and 22nd. In addition, in case you forget, the game will also give you a notification on the days he appears that he is now available in the town on that particular day. Here are all of the books that we have seen him selling at his store so far:

  • Book of Stars: 15,000 gold – Gives the player XP for all skills.
  • Horse: The Book: 25,000 gold – Boosts the speed while riding a horse.
  • Mining Monthly: 8,000 gold – XP for mining.
  • Ol Slitherlegs: 25,000 gold – Makes the player run quicker through grass and crops.
  • Price Catalog: 3,000 gold – Gives you info about how much your items are worth in sale value.
  • Stardew Valley Almanac: 5,000 gold – Farming XP.
  • Way of the Wind Part 1: 15,000 gold – Helps the player run faster.
  • Woodcutter’s Weekly: 10,000 gold – Gives XP for foraging.

Stardew Valley 1.6 is now available on PC. However, the major update is set to be released at a later time on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
