Moonstones are incredibly important items in Moonstone Island, as they are used in crafting a range of materials. However, despite their importance, they are difficult to find due to their rarity. Players may not know where to get them. Here’s a way to seek them out.
Where to find Moonstones in Moonstone Island
Due to the randomly generated islands and placement of Moonstones, it isn’t easy to identify the exact locations where you’ll find them. However, there is one consistent rule with how they spawn.
Each island contains exactly one Moonstone. This is found lying around in the grass somewhere and is easily seen at nighttime, as they glow in the dark. If you can’t wait until night, you can slash the grass with your scythe to reveal them, although this will take longer. Moonstones do respawn, but this only happens at the start of a season. So if you’ve grabbed a Moonstone early in Spring, you’ll have to wait until Summer to find another on that island.
Moonstones can also be found in treasure chests, which can be found in two places. The first is in dungeons, usually by solving puzzles or uncovering teleporters. Each dungeon has a set number of chests, and this number can be seen in the corner of the screen when you’re exploring them.
You can also find buried treasure around the world. As you explore the islands, you may find maps on the ground. Checking these maps in your inventory will reveal a location on another island somewhere. Once you’ve figured out the location, fly out to the island and use your hoe to dig holes where the X is located.
However, it’s best not to rely on chests to find Moonstones. Maps do not respawn and they only lead to one chest each. Dungeon chests also don’t respawn. In addition, chests don’t always contain a Moonstone, as there is only a chance they may appear.
What do Moonstones do in Moonstone Island?
Moonstones are valuable crafting materials in Moonstone Island. They are used for nearly every recipe available on the Moonstone Enchanter table, either in their original form or as Ingots made with a Furnace.
Moonstones are required for building a Spirit Barn, allowing you to collect a large number of Spirits. They are also used for other buildings, including new home bases and a greenhouse. You will also need them to make a Moonstone Bracelet so you can commit to a romance with another villager. They can also be used to make protective charms using an Anvil, by turning them into Ingots and then Sheets.
